"For Brett Kavanaughs sake if he is innocent I hope tomorrow he opens his statement and says bring in all the victims all of them to be questioned. That will clear his name if he is indeed innocent."

Swalwell said this during the Kavanaugh hearings in 2018. In 2026 when his own accusers came forward his lawyers sent cease and desist letters rather than welcoming any investigation.

Removed from the House Intelligence Committee by Speaker McCarthy - cited his relationship with a Chinese spy

"If you got the briefing I got from the FBI you would not have Swalwell on any committee."

Speaker Kevin McCarthy removed Swalwell from the House Intelligence Committee in January 2023 citing his past association with suspected Chinese spy Christine Fang. Swalwell called it purely vengeance.

"And it would be a short war my friend. The government has nukes. Too many of them but they are legit."

Swalwell tweeted this in November 2018 in response to someone arguing that armed citizens could resist government gun confiscation. He deleted the tweet after widespread backlash.

Spent years accusing Trump of being compromised by a foreign government - while a Chinese spy had been in his own office

Swalwell repeatedly accused Trump of colluding with Russian intelligence. The FBI had briefed Swalwell in 2015 that Chinese spy Christine Fang had been cultivating his office since 2012.

Axios reported in December 2020 that Christine Fang a suspected Chinese spy fundraised for Swalwells 2014 campaign and helped place an intern in his congressional office. Swalwell was on the House Intelligence Committee with CIA oversight at the time.

The sexual assault allegations are flat false - issued denial video after nearly his entire staff resigned

"The sexual assault allegations are flat false. This is a political hit job timed to take me out of the governors race."

Swalwell posted this denial video late Friday April 11 2026 after CNN and the SF Chronicle published accounts from multiple women. By that point nearly all of his top campaign advisors had already resigned.
